Be Good Model

What Does A Model Need In Order To Be Successful?

There are things you might consider in able to become a successful model. But, below are the basic things you must have on your own in able to enter this career.

    1.       Good Looks. You will not become a successful model if you don’t have any good looks at people in public and that is true. You can’t even pass the application for being a model if you don’t have this. Every model has its own unique looks that were very pleasing to people around. Good looking person is the top requirement to be a model and for that, you can have your way to the top. There are lot of people wanted to be a model, good looking or not. But it’s really hard to become a model, even with those good looks in your body, some other person still don’t end with success. Modelling requires specific look for a specific fashion so organizers are looking not just with the good looks but the one who is suited for that specific fashion. That is why there are very lucky people that doesn’t have very good looks but has a successful career being a model. There are lot of good looking people in the world but the demand for modelling can’t sustain all the applicants. They are maybe gorgeous and hot, but sometimes they don’t just suit for this career. But for sure, good looks added some points to you when you want to become a successful model.

    2.       Height. Being a model is like being a star. Models walk like gods and goddesses in catwalk with their head held high. The quality they have being a successful model are good looks and the height. Yes you were right, height is one of the top requirement to be a model especially for the girls. Height is very essential for a girl to evaluate everything in fashion. With the right height for the right fashion, you will make the people vow to you. They don’t just look up to you but they will look at you with a pride and proud because of the height you have. There are still other models that don’t have any height because they are fitted with those specific things for modelling. They are lucky enough to be a model making that so far without that height. But internationally, height is one of the assets a model must have in order to be successful. Good looks are degrading to others if you don’t have any height to fit for your looks. It is very proportion to have good looks in able to please the audience and the height for the proud and some point for.

    3.       Stylish Clothes. When applying to be a model, good looks and height is not just the main requirements. You should also aware of the fashion trend in able to be in the flow of fashion. Being imaginative in what you are wearing will added you some points especially if it is unique and new and it fits you, you may now listed in the candidates for hall of fame. What you wear is what you feel, so be nice and good in combining elements in clothes. Being aware of the proportionality of clothes is important in able to fit the desired theme for fashion. From the upper body, down with the legs and foot wear, added with some accessories will make you more fabulous and good. There are geniuses when it comes in arranging these things, that’s why they are lucky to become a model. They don’t have any quality of good looks but the stylish wear made them a good looking person than any other models. But, imagine if you have the looks, the height, plus the ability to manipulate things you wear will surely help you become a successful model and opens a lot more opportunity for you.

Having these qualities in basic will help you make your way to the top in your model career. But these are just basic qualities and you will experience more difficulties in making your way. You will need to learn a lot more to become a successful model. Attitude and discipline are other basic qualities that you must have but there are other lessons you might not learn from yourself but through others and your experiences.

    Be Size TWO.

Like most women, I want to have fair skin too. I want to have gorgeous eyes that could fool the world. Thin and red lips that could lure men. And a gorgeous body. I just described a model.
MODEL. A woman or a man most envied by most people. Defined as physically perfect.
Believe it or not, I DID want to be a model. I love cameras so much. I like taking pictures and posing for pictures. I can't hide the envy I feel when I see friends and close people pose for photographers and look undeniably beautiful. Sometimes I'd want to be the subject too. But I can't. Because I'm not like them.
Sure, I've thought of diet a lot of times. But it's just too hard. Oh so don't tell me I didn't try. I did. But then I failed. Because I thought, why would I want to be beautiful? God made me like this. Therefore God thinks I look beautiful in this way. I accept it. Though I may not think of myself as beautiful most of the time, I have always buried in this narrow mind of mine that I am LOVED. So much.
So okay, I think a short blogpost will do. I just can't accept the fact that all people in the world thinks that most women are beautiful when they're size two.

    TOO FAT TO MODEL?

As an exercise in the absurdity that is the industry standard, we highlight a few models who have been chastised for their weight recently, dubbed “too fat” for fashion.

    Boki Milinkovic

    David Sciola

American model David Sciola (second) was rejected from Parisian runways, while models like Boki Milinkovic (first) were getting work.

“In Milan, I trimmed down to about 76kg [167 lb] so I would fit the clothes,” says Sciola. ” I am 6′2″, so for me I would say that’s underweight. Paris tends to be even skinnier than Milan. You’ve got designers like Dior who always go for anaemic, 17-year-old bodies… I don’t even go to Prada castings because I know I’m not going to get the work.”

Milinkovic, however, stands 6′3″ and 66kg [145lb]. His comparative success goes to show that, at least in the fashion world, “scrawn is the new brawn.”

Jen Hunter (first) was criticized for her weight on Britain’s Make Me a Supermodel, while competitor Marianne Berglund (second) was praised for having a “sensational” body.

One judge on the show called Hunter “fat, lazy, and greedy.” Meanwhile, Berglund was congratulated for her figure, despite having a BMI of 16.1 – well below the CDC’s categorization of being underweight (defined as a BMI of 18.5 or lower).

Former Wonderbra model Katie Green quit her job after being repeatedly told she was too fat. To poke fun at her former employers, she went on to work with Sony in the Bravia ZX1 flat screen ad campaign, asking “is this thin enough for you?” Kudos to Green for laughing at her critics and refusing to comply.

Karolina Kurkova, a Victoria Secret supermodel, came under fire at Sao Paulo fashion week (first), where critics said she had  ”love handles and cellulite.” We frankly can’t see a difference between this runway show and her Victoria Secret show (second) in 2008. Either way, this mother-to-be remains one of the Top 15 Highest Paid Models, according to Forbes, so critics be damned.

Eva Mendes was recently put in the position of defending her weight, after these new Calvin Klein ads emerged. Critics said she was too big to model, especially for Calvin Klein – a company notorious for using waifs like Kate Moss. “I don’t have a starving body, I have a healthy, toned body,” Mendes says. “I don’t think people should criticize my advert. I prepped for it a lot, and I think it’s great.”

Calvin Klein was less than supportive in this argument, however. CK President and CEO Tom Murry explained that the new campaign was “a departure from more slender body types that have been used in Calvin Klein Underwear ads. [It's] not so much about a trend of being more curvaceous. This product is made for a curvaceous woman.”

So, does this imply that Eva Mendes is (a) not slender, and (b) would only be hired in specific and rare instances, for fuller-figured products? Something is very wrong with this picture, indeed.

Famed Victoria Secret model-turned-media-mogul Heidi Klum was recently criticized by Wolfgang Joop for being “too fat” for the catwalk. Joop, a fashion designer and judge on Germany’s Next Top Model, told German GQ in February 2009 that Klum “is simply too heavy and has too big a bust. And she always grins so stupidly.”

Klum’s husband, Seal, fired back, saying that Joop’s remarks were “an insignificant statement coming from an even more insignificant source,” that he’s merely an unknown designer “looking for a little publicity.”

If anyone is in agreement with these critics that the models in question need to lose weight, we strongly suggest seeking professional help.

We can’t negotiate with disturbed fashion directors who demand their clothes be worn by corpses, much less the millions of minions who blindly follow suit. But we can come to terms with the fact that, as consumers, we always hold the upper hand. If we don’t like how they’re selling, what they’re saying, or who they’re starving in the name of fashion – then we won’t buy it. Money is a massive motivational tool, and it’s the most powerful picket sign we have. So let’s keep the protest pushing forward, in the name of health, human decency, and pure common sense.

    The Ugly Price of Beauty

To become beautiful, women are willing to do anything, I mean EVERYTHING- from extreme diet fads to going under the knife- just to look like a Hollywood star, say Jessica Alba. But do we really know up to what extent the beauty industry will manipulate or photoshop decent pictures to perfection?

Truth be told, even the most confident and beautiful person still has insecurities. Society has become so judgmental and less tolerable about women's flaws and imperfection. The evidence lies in the rampant use of airbrushing and cropping techniques to make celebrities lose 10 lbs in a magazine cover. It's not totally wrong if only minor retouches are done, but what happens is a total overhaul. We have been groomed over the years to believe that anything far from perfect is ugly.

    Wanted: Sticks and Bones

The fashion industry is very brutal. Designers are very picky in choosing what type of models they want to use for runway shows or editorial campaigns. Sometimes they can be specific- demanding girls with an edgy look, an androgynous feature or a strong walk. But the bottom-line is you have to be size 0 with a 23 inch waist.

What we see on runway shows are the fashion industry's full blown fantasy. Most of the dresses worn on the runway are extravagant, impractical and over-the-top. It's the kind of clothing  that you would not normally see any person wear in real life. And if you happen to see anyone wear it down the street- you'd think of them as crazy and absurd fashion whores.

The same analogy applies too for stick thin models wearing designer clothes. Being stick thin may be  normal for fashion experts if you are a model, but never will that body type be considered a model for girls and women to emulate in real life.

Fashion has tweaked our mind that a super skinny body is the most desirable. However, common sense tells us that if you are stick thin it means something is wrong with you. It's either you are gravely sick or starving because of impoverished conditions.

I see the point why basketball players need to be tall, or why jockeys need to be small- that makes their job easier. Models need to be skinny for aesthetic purposes- I get it,  but why allow the unhealthy looking models work when these girls should be placed in a hospital or rehab centres.

    Skinny vs. Super Skinny

In order to compete against many aspiring models, girls resort to extreme measures to lose more weight. Being skinny is not enough because those tiny (size 0) sample clothes must fit you all the time. Gaining 1-2 pounds or just moving 1 size up may jeopardise your chances of being booked.

The pressure of staying thin over a long period of time can make girls develop eating disorders like Anorexia and Bulimia. Professional models start out as early as 14-16 years old so their bodies are not yet fully developed. But eventually their bodies start to grow, thus, they do whatever it takes to maintain a small frame, and most of the time- they go overboard with dieting.

The Elle Style Awards Model of the Year 2011, Coco Rocha, was labelled last year as too fat to walk the runway at size 4. In response, she opened a can of worms through her tumblr account. She attacked the fashion industry’s obsession with size 0 and questioned the morality behind encouraging young models to lose more weight- when in fact they’re already skinny.

In 2008, this 5’10 beauty was also told that she’s too fat for weighing 108 lbs. And she was advised:
“You need to lose more weight. The look this year is anorexia. We don't want you to be anorexic but that's what we want you to look like."
