Elizabeth Clark "Liz" Phair is an American singer, songwriter and guitarist born in New Haven, Connecticut and raised in Winnetka, Illinois. Phair began her career in the early 1990s by self-releasing audio cassettes under the moniker Girly Sound, before singing for the indie record label Matador Records. Since her debut, Liz has released a total of six albums with the most recent, Fun Style, released earlier this year.
