It's a Royal Wedding

Have to say - I'm loving all the hype on the upcoming nuptials of Kate Middleton and Prince William. The momentos are fabulous. Have you purchased any? I'm particularly fond of the bobble heads myself. (I'm hoping Anna will drop in with an update on what's available in England).






So what will you be doing on the big day, Friday, April 29th? Will you be glued to the TV set watching the procession? While the actual event takes
place at 11:00 am in England, that is more like 6 am in Ohio. While I'll admit I watched the 1981 royal wedding of Lady Diana and Prince Charles, I won't be able to be watch this one. I'll be in a (yawn) accounting seminar that starts at 7:30 am that Friday and then drive an hour or so to present a writing workshop once the seminar is over. No rest for the wicked (grin). I think I read somewhere that the big event will be broadcast on youtube. Isn't youtube just wonderful? If not for them, I couldn't post this:











I do so love a royal wedding! How about you? Any party plans? Maybe just one piece of wedding cake? (Hmmm...I know the accountants wouldn't do it, but I wonder if I can talk the workshop sponsors into some cake for the participants. I say any excuse for a party is good enough for me.) Let's party in the lair.

It's one of those unanswerable questions, isn't it?
I suppose unless you're an ant!

Any readers who happen to be ants, please step up to the plate and give us a definitive answer! Or perhaps that should be ANT-swer.

No, don't go. I promise the puns will stop and what is to come is much funnier than my jokes!

I want to talk about the good things in life - and something that always restores my faith in humanity is a visit to YouTube. Yes, YouTube is a force for international good!

It seems to me what really grabs the imagination over there isn't horrible stuff about people being mean to one another. It's the sweet, life-affirming stuff like dancing babies or animals being impossibly cute (although sadly I'm yet to find any ants doing antics!). So I thought in the interest of general wellbeing, I'd share a couple of my favorites with you!

I'm not sure a baby hedgehog eating a carrot counts as an animal with talent but it's mighty cute (Trish Bandita put me onto this one):

I'm sure most of you have seen the next one - which isn't precisely animals (depends on your opinion of soccer fans!). I gather it was put together for the World Cup in South Africa in 2010 and it's a kind of Middle Earth meets mayhem extravaganza. It still makes me giggle like a loon!

India’s largest GSM Mobile service operator Bharti Airtel today officially announced the launch of its New Global Logo.

The most popular telecom service provider Bharti Airtel has changed its logo and unveiled a new one for new international identity. The company will be spending over Rs. 300 Crores globally to change the brand identity. The new brand identity will be unveiled all across India, Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Seychelles.


Apart from the above announcement, Airtel today demonstrated its capabilities of 3G services in an event in New Delhi. Sunil Bharti Mittal, Chairman and Managing Director of Bharti Airtel , made the first 3G video call to its brand ambassador Shahrukh Khan from the Airtel 3G Network.

The Bharti Airtel also plans change the design of its recharge vouchers and publicity materials. The Airtel’s re-branding is done by the agency J Walter Thompson. The change in the brand follows the acquisition of Zain’s operations in Africa by India’s Bharti Airtel (BA) in June this year in a $10.7 billion deal.
